Wait, does Jim Norton even need an introduction?  Jim is a legendary comedian, best selling author, radio personality and a favorite Red Eye regular.   I hope you enjoy, because interviewing someone this big requires pulling me off the ceiling and it might be a while till I come down on my own.  Here is Jim Norton.  Enjoy!The Arquette Sisters: How did you get booked for the show? Jim Norton:  I first met Greg in a Turnpike rest area. We clunked heads while leaning down to plug in our gloryhole-making drills. We’ve been friends ever since. TAS: What have been your favorite moments on Red Eye?JN: Hard to say, as there have been so few good ones. If I had to choose, I’d say the time we were in commercial break (sometime over the summer of 2009) and I glanced down and noticed Bill had on argyle socks. I said something along the lines of, ‘those are really nice socks’ and he said something to the effect of ‘thanks’, or ‘thank you’. TAS:  What preparation do you do for Red Eye?JN:  I’ll normally peruse the topics of the day while giving myself a Valvoline colonic. TAS:  There have been a number of guest hosts for Red Eye and as one fan put it, he was “…watching Jim Norton take Greg’s job.”  How was hosting the show and how did your prep for the show differ? JN:  I just tried to be myself; I didn’t try to be Greg. What he does is honestly brilliant on the show and I figured there’s no way I could do what he does the way he does it. And no one is taking his job at all; hosting one or two times is great; you can do your best stuff.
