Drivecam: The driver safety system you do not want to invest in….

Drivecam is a video camera system that records the space immediately in front of a vehicle and the front drivers compartment of automobiles or trucks in which it is installed.
At first Drivecam seems like a very cost effective solution to providing feedback to persons with an interest if learning of the safe and unsafe driving habits of those operating their motor vehicles.   Often used in commercial fleets, school districts, ambulance services, limousines, or even taxi’s we purchased Drivecam with a great deal of confidence that we had bought a product that provides us valuable information at a fair and reasonable cost.
Through the years, we found Drivecam to be non-customer friendly.  Their decisions and actions or “business decisions” as their support personnel refer to them, have caused some of their customers to rebel against them and take their business elsewhere.  So, more and more of these Drivecam cameras and systems are appearing on EBay and Craiglists by companies and individuals who are commonly referred to as “Drivecam Orphans.”  These persons and businesses feel abandoned by Drivecam.   Another example of corporate greed.
In the days ahead, we’ll explore my company’s history with Drivecam and fully rationalize why we feel abandoned by Drivecam.

April 1, 2010  by admin ·  Here you will find my blog.    You’ll find a few topics of interest to me.  These include EMS (Emergency Medical Services), computer gaming, computer technology, and ePCR (Electronic Patient Care Records).    I decided to host my own website / blog because I do consulting work (Information Technology Systems) from time to time.    The type of consulting work I do varies greatly.   I have many IT skills which are useful to many persons and businesses.    I work for a small business that has approximately 75 PC’s and 150 users in a Windows environment.      I manage network security, backups, websites, servers and SQL database servers.
In addition to all of this I am licensed as a paramedic in the State of Michigan.  I am employed with a private ambulance service in Michigan.  Our company is family owned and operated serving your parents and their parents in Metro Detroit since 1957.     I have been employed here for 20 years and I absolutely love what I do.   I wear many hats in the company and I am capable of wearing many more.      I believe loyalty, dedication, consistency and perseverance are the qualities to exceed in the pre-hospital environment.    My job has me in a management role now.  But, I still get to practice and take care of people from time to time.
One could say I enjoy the best of 2 worlds of interest to me.   EMS and In
