We have been pleased to be part of this larger process of caring for our volunteers who sacrifice so much in serving our nation and the cause of freedom worldwide. Regrettably the time has come for us to cease our activities by the end of 2015. We are pleased to report, however, our Veteran Friendly Congregation (VFC) program will be adopted by the Military Chaplains Association (MCA) between now and the end of the year. This transition will permit the program to remain an interfaith effort. It will also add a national focus as the MCA, a congressionally chartered 501.c.3 non-profit with a 90 year history of service to military members, veterans and their families in both the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs provides ministry in all fifty states and all the commonwealths of our nation. We thank the 90+ congregations that have signed up as VFCs, created outreach ministries, and developed activities that supported their communities' effort to help veterans and their families and help ensure that veterans are appreciated for their service and sacrifice. We hope all of the existing VFCs will continue their work in partnership with the MCA. The contact at the MCA for the VFC program is Chaplain Lyman Smith (Captain, CHC, USN, Retired). He can be reached at chaplains@mca-usa.org or by phone at (703) 533-5890. The CFTT website will be revised during this transition before being taken down early in 2016. All materials related to military ministry and Veteran Friendly Congregations will be transferred to the MCA web site (www.mca-usa.org). The Therapist Database will remain available until the CFTT website is final
