charset=iso-8859-1" />HomeWelcome to the Website of the Dimensional Metrology Standards ConsortiumThe mission of Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC™, Inc.) is to identify urgently needed standards in the field of dimensional metrology, and to promote, foster, and encourage the development and interoperability of these standards, along with related and supporting standards that will benefit the industry as a whole. The Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS) is one such standard that the consortium has the responsibility to develop, maintain and support as well as to coordinate and harmonize with other related standards efforts. The DMSC™ is an ANSI Accredited Standards Developing Organization, as well as an A-Liaison to ISO. The consortium invites participation within the consortium of other standards groups and activities that seek to resolve the technology and other issues of automated dimensional metrology. This new standard covers the digitalinteroperability needs for a wide variety of use cases including feature-based dimensionalmetrology, quality measurement planning, first article inspection, and discretequality measurement.ANSIapproval of QIF v1.0 indicates that QIF has attained a consensus approval froma large number of subject matter experts in the digital metrologyindustry. (See “About DMSC” below.) TheQIF standard was designed to meet the highest industry requirements and tosatisfy technological gaps that have traditionally cost industry hundreds ofmillions of dollars annually. The DMSC has met, and continues to meet the needfor urgently required national standards in quality measurement in a timelyfashion. ANSI’s accredited Standards DevelopingOrganizations (SDOs) operate in accordance with national and often internationalguidelines, and have been verified by government and peer review assessments. The ANSI Board of Standards Review (BSR) approvedthe standard on December 19, 2013.QIF aims to define an integrated setof XML information models which enable the effective exchange of metrology datathroughout the entire manufacturing quality measurement process - from productdesign to inspection planning to execution and analysis. QIF V1.0 models include qualitycharacteristics
