Shakespeare’s Plays Come to Life in a Magical Door County Garden Called Björklunden“Summer’s lease hath all too short a date” (Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18). The 2019 season closes August 24. Call 920.839.1500 or click “buy tickets” (above) to see the  “epic and intimate” Henry V and the “vibrantly witty” Merry Wives of Windsor (Milwaukee Shepherd Express).Door Shakespeare’s 2019 summer season features two of William Shakespeare’s best-loved works, Henry V and The Merry Wives of Windsor. From June 19 – August 24, the finest professional actors, directors, designers and musicians from around the country come together to share these classic and timeless plays with audiences in the magical Garden at Björklunden in Baileys Harbor.The productions unfold before your eyes. As a member of the audience, you are up close and personal to the action. As dusk falls over the course of the evening, you may take on the role of a confidante or a voyeur. By the end of the evening, when the stars are out and the actors take their final bow, you will feel as though you have come to know this talented ensemble of players. Such is the magic of live theatre, when performed in an outdoor setting so enchanting that many in attendance come back year after year since Door Shakespeare’s inception in 1995.A number of Door Shakespeare performances feature pre-show lectures and family activities, including Will In The Woods and Shake It Up Saturdays, as well as our very popular Wine Nights. Refreshments are available at every performance. There is also an annual gala in early August!In addition to our main-stage productions, there is Camp Will, created for the youth of Door County. Door Shakespeare offers three one-week sessions (Monday – Friday) that are led by members of our Acting Company.
