Welcome to Hope Advantage! HOPE's mission is to provide educational and social advantages to home schooled students in Northeast Ohio by providing oppportunities for social interaction and accountability within the framework of Biblical principles. In an effort to accomplish this, we offer affordable, quality, academic classes that provide support to parents in their endeavor to home educate their middle through high school-aged children. We realize the teen years are challenging for home schooled families and many sadly abandon home schooling due to lack of support. Parents may not feel confident enough to teach more advanced subjects, grading becomes more difficult, teens may feel isolated or that they are missing out on "traditional" school activities, and younger children at home may still need moms attention which can leave teens to teach themselves. A teaching co-op like HOPE can provide just what many families need! Consider the benefits of a teaching co-op: Teachers give weekly assignments and are available to answer questions by phone or email before the next class. Offers accountability opportunities for your child to someone other than mom. Provides help with grading and record keeping especially with those difficult subjects like composition. Encourages students to work within time limits, strengthening time management and study skills. Gives teens a safe, Christ-centered place to belong during the teen years that does not compete with your authority but reinforces it. The idea for HOPE originated when families living near Macedonia, Ohio were weary of traveling 30 miles twice a week to attend a similar co-op west of Akron. Other families communicated a desire to see a teaching co-op meet nearby, so after much discussion and prayer, HOPE was established. We currently meet every Friday in a rented facility in Macedonia and accept students in grades 5 - 12. Latest News 2012-2013 Registration Begins! City Under the Stars April 28,2012 Plan now to spend the evening "Under the Stars" at the HOPE sponsored formal dance for homeschooled students in grades 9-12.
