Something just wasn’t right.And we expressed this concern to each other. Turned out, the feeling was mutual: Something wasn’t right at all.It was a shared feeling of dread, in fact. And you could say it was the obvious things:TerrorismEconomic downturns and uncertaintyA growing distrust of the governmentEMP attacksPerhaps, it was all of those things. Or maybe it was just a hunch something much worse was coming than anything we’d ever seen before.So we decided to do something about it…We sought out sources, classes, websites, mentors, shady people with interesting skills, and a community.Now the educational sources and websites were plentiful. (And we knew a few shady people with interesting skills.)But like-minded groups and mentors were hard to find and spread out. And most classes required travel and big cash outlays.With lots of research, trial, and a lot of error, we struck out on our own. Surprisingly, as a little group we accomplished a lot.We even managed to weasel our way in and make friends with a few famous survivalists.Then podcasts started to popup. Some were good. Some made two episodes and disappeared.But the first was very solid….Except for the yelling. And the head off to the country bit just wasn’t for us.We were city guys, after all. So it made us think…Why Not Start Our Own Show?It would have to be very different, though. What would be the point of just doing what was already done?We decided to embrace our goofy nature and share our failures as much as our successes–rather than portray ourselves as know-it-alls.Before we knew it a lot of people were listening to our dumb asses. 25,000 people, in fact. (Guess we weren’t as dumb as we thought we were.)They Started Contacting Us…And then we were being asked to consult on the books of best-selling authors.That was cool and all, we’ll admit. However, there was still something lacking.We wanted a way to support the continued production of the show. But it had to also share tremendous value with those that supported us.And that meant…It’s time for more…Because the show is not enough.
