2nd Annual Roy’s Run for Christopher to Benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation
Roy Wiegand is an ultra marathon runner who is running (alone and with friends along the way) from Children’s Hospital Orange County, stopping at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and ending at the Burbank Tennis Center on July 4th. Roy’s goal is to raise $25,000 dollars, for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation on behalf of Christopher Wilke, who passed away of cancer on March 20, 2014.
Roy’s son and Christopher were in the same Boy Scout Troop and he was “blown away” by the amazing effect Christopher had upon so many people in his community. Roy heard so many wonderful stories about Christopher that he decided to do something to honor him. Based on his experience of previous years of running he decided to make his challenge run a fundraiser to benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer in Christopher’s honor.
