MARCUS HOOK BOROUGH HAYRIDE

On Saturday October 29th and Sunday October 30th, the Borough of Marcus Hook will host their annual haunted hayride. On Saturday the 29th at 5 p.m there will be a walk-through at Blackbeard's house, hosted by Blackbeard himself. Then, at 6 p.m the hayride will start from the Memorial Park at Market and Delaware Streets.
BUSY DAY FOR STATION 68
Thursday, October 13, 2011   - 
Today at 12:37 Companies 68, 39, Rescue 40, Tower 61, Engine 63, RIT 45, and Medic 100-7 were dispatched to the 4000 block of Ridge Road at Congoleum for the commercial building fire. Ladder 68 arrived on location and found there to be a problem with an overhead crane and that the fire department was not needed.
At 16:10 Company 68 was dispatched to unit block of Cedar Street for the automatic fire alarm. 68-2(J.Clausen) went responding shortly later with a full crew. 68-2 arrived on location and investigated. The nature of the fire alarm was unfounded.
Later at 17:12 Company 68 and Medic 100-7 was dispatched for an auto accident within 100 feet of the firehouse. 68-9a(J.Clausen) advised fireboard that the fire department was not needed. Company 68 stayed off radio.
Later on in the evening at 19:24 Company 68 was dispatched to the 300 block of East 10th Street for a smoke detector activation. 68-2(A.Brooks) went responding with a full crew. 68-2 arrived on location and began to investigate. Crews found the problem to be a faulty smoke detector.
At 21:20 Company 68 was dispatched to the unit block of East 10th Street for an investigation. 68-2(J.Ewing) went responding with a crew of 4. 68-2 arrived on location and began investigated. Crews investigated and found negative results.

POSSIBLE BUILDING FIRE IN CONGOLEUM
Monday, September 26, 2011   - 
Tonight at 21:49 Companies 68, 39, 40, Tower 61, Engine 63, RIT 45, and Medic 81-7 were dispatched to the 4000 block of Ridge Rd at Congoleum Industries for the reported building fire. 68-9a(J.Clausen) and Ladder 68(A.Brooks) made the response. 68-9a arrived on location and instructed crews to go into the building and investigate. 68-9a established Congoleum Command. Crews found there to be heavy smoke coming from the oven but there was no visible fire. Command held the situation to Ladder 68 placing all others units available as well as asking for Hovercraft 12 to assist with ventilation. Company 68 was off radio at 23:11.
