Our 98th YearFounded 1916 Website updated 31st October 2014 The LSCMRC is a club for owners, breeders and exhibitors of Fancy Mice and Rats. Visitors are welcomed (donation appreciated). [Sorry but we are unable to assist with the "rehoming" of mice and rats or how to treat the injured mouse that the cat brought in] Our Next Show is on Saturday 1st November at the Scout Hall, Gordon Road, Enfield Judging at 1pm Fancy Mice have been exhibited in Britain for more than 100 years. The Fancy started in the East End of London in the 1890's. The interest spread to the North of England where it became very popular in the mining communities. The National Mouse Club lays down the standards by which mice are judged. The LSCMRC is working on a wikipedia of Fancy Mice and a digital library on the Mouse Fancy. Fancy Rats have been exhibited in Britain for almost as long as Fancy Mice. They became very popular in the 1970's when the National Fancy Rat Society (NFRS) was founded. The LSCMRC is working on a library of photographs of all varieties of Fancy Rats. Other material on the Rat Fancy and its history is also included on this website.
