Money Making Opportunities for Stay at Home Moms

Wow that title is a mouthful, but I hope it gets the point across! A quick search online will reveal all kinds of business opportunities for stay at home moms, dads, and really anyone. However, many of them only make the “recruiter” the real money while the person registering (YOU) is out anywhere from $500-$3000. So really, the way to make money in those businesses is to be on the recruiting side of things rather than the actual selling of products or services. So in light of that, we’re not going to discuss those types of opportunities today. So what are some actual things that you can do today without an actual required investment and make a substantial supplemental income? Les discuss.

Summertime Job Opportunities for Students

Having graduated from a university nearly 4 years ago, this happens to be a topic that I am still very interested in because I can still relate to poor college students. The love of money is the root of all evil, however, money can make your life a lot easier! Especially as a student. I mean think about it, as a full-time university student, you spend every day up on campus going from class to class, lecture to lecture, studying, computer labs, library time, etc. Oh yah, and if you didn’t take high school to seriously, you’ve got to figure out a way to pay for rent, food, books, tuition, and a little bit of play money on the side. If you’re going to school to become an engineer or a doctor, well, you’re likely not going to have much of a social life for the next ten or so years haha. Actually this applies to everyone, college of science, art, engineering, business, and any others I’m forgetting. How do you pay for your monthly expenses and still keep a great GPA? There are quite a few things you can do really and unfortunately it’s not well known.
The main one I’m going to discuss is something called summer sales. Now wait, before you run away saying “I hate sales I could never do that!”, hear me out for a minute. There are a number of companies, especially concentrated in Utah for some reason, that recruit college students during the school year and hire them to sell in various parts of the country for 3-4 months during the summer. It can be a grind since it is mainly D2D (door to door) sales. Yikes. But did I mention the average sales people that do this make anywhere from $20,000-$30,000 a summer? In some parts of the country that’s not too far off from a teacher’s salary. That’s right, someone who went to a university, paid for tuition, suffered through all of those difficult classes, and now makes $25K-$35K per year. Per Year!!! And I’m telling you there are companies that will pay you that in a summer time. However, you have to sell.
