If you've never been to our fine restaurants, then I'll give you a little history on our establishments. Why would you want to know more about these restaurants? Well, it's because we're the best around. Let me introduce myself, I'm Peter Chang and I'm the general manager of the restaurants. Restaurants... Duck Chang's and Peking Duck Restaurant. Duck Chang's Restaurant was established in 1975, this is the restaurant that made the Peking Duck famous! Peking Duck Restaurant was opened in 1982 and has been serving Peking Duck and other delectable culinary delights ever since. Duck Chang's was the first and only Chinese restaurant in the United States that prepared and served Peking Duck without 24hrs advanced notice. Winner of "The Washingtonian Award" for ten consecutive years and voted to have one of the best Peking Duck around. Duck Chang's was the only Chinese restaurant selected by Esquire Magazine, March 2005 amongst a few elite of thirty-four restaurants from across the Nation as "The Best Bites of Food in the U.S.A" Our Peking Duck was choosen as meal of choice and is part of what Esquire Magazine Dubbed "Edible moments of ecstasy from coast to coast." In 2015 - 2016, Fairfax County Health Department recognized Duck Chang's Restaurant with an Active Managerial Control Award. This awards is given to businesses, owners, operators, managers that demonstrated an understanding of food safety knowlegde as well as takes a pro active approach in food safety practices to minimumize the risk of foodborne illnesses. There were only 15 individuals who received this Award in a pilot program during a 10 months inspection period in all of Fairfax County. Duck Chang's is the only Non-Chained Independent Operated Business that received this recognition. Peking Duck Restaurant has been named one of the best restaurants in the country by ZAGAT in 2015! Best rating over all other Chinese Restaurant! From 2013 -2015, each edition features over 1,822 restaurants in 46 major markets and Peking Duck Restaurant is rated highest and the best in Northern VA! We set trends that others follows, from cooking concepts to recipes to names. Duck Chang's is the first fully non smoking Chinese Restaurant in Northern Virginia. Both locations are fully non smoking and we work actively to promote great food with great atmosphere. Did you know that Peking Duck Restaurant and Duck Chang's originiated and coined the name "BANG BANG" for our entrees back in 1990's? The name that have made a cross over to American restaurants from the States side to the Virgin Islands? Other Chinese restaurants have changed the name from Peng Peng to Pang Pang using our recipes.
