Rome Baptist Temple Preaching the Word to Reach the World Skip to content HomeRome Baptist TempleWhat We BelieveJunior Church ScheduleRBT Pulpit Pray for the Locklear family, Missionaries to Jamaica Posted on August 20, 2011 by RBT Please keep the Locklear family in your prayers with the homegoing of Sis. Marilyn’s mother. Here is the prayer letter they sent out this morning with the details: August 20, 2011 Dear Supporting Churches, Friends and Family, God has sure been good to us. Marilyn’s Mother went to Heaven this morning at 3:30, August 20th. She was not sick but died of old age 96 to be exact. She had a good, long life and we are all thankful to the Lord for leaving her with us all those years. She went easy. It is sad to Mrs. Mack but on a good note, today is Daniel Forsyth’s 12th birthday also. He is our grandson. We have had a rough night realizing before going to bed that she was not expected to make it through the night. And knowing we were going to have to find tickets to go home was another disturbing situation. Delta had four flights coming to Jamaica daily and now only have two and even their employees are on standby trying to get off the island. We were offered flights home for 1900.00 to 3000.00 U.S. and one of them wanted to take us to Dallas, Texas and back to Atlanta. We tried all the airlines and ended up with Mrs. Mack a ticket on Delta on Wednesday, August 24th and returning August 28th on Sunday. It was very expensive. I will not be going with her so please remember her when you pray as well as the rest of the family. It looks like the funeral will have to be delayed until next Thursday. Needless to say, we have painted all week on the children’s home again. Ken Ryan has completely finished the primer and painting of the home. We call it the WHITE HOUSE and it is beautiful. Mrs. Mack and I have completely finished the down stairs, ready for tile floors. I think we will go to Montego Bay today and pick out the tile. Yesterday we started the primer upstairs. Mrs. Mack painted so much that her left arm swelled twice the size of her right arm. The home has all the windows and outside doors installed on the first floor and the doors are locked. This week we have hosted for the first time a Youth Camp for our own youth. We have had 20 staying here around the clock. The only thing hard is they like to stay up until around 2:00 A.M. It hasn’t bothered Ken and myself but Mrs. Mack has had very little sleep. Pastor Josh Wesley came on Thursday evening to do their devotion for them and they have all worked during the day to help here at the church on the wall and the children’s home and have done a good job. They have hand washed their clothes each morning and hung them on the line. They have furnished all their own food and done their own cooking. Tomorrow is Youth Sunday and then they go home. Last night all the guys came up and held hands with us and prayed for us a
