Prairie Bridge International Friends and Neighbors
Prairie Bridge International provides people of all nationalities an opportunity to share the best of their own cultures with each other.  The area surrounding Prairie Bridge International is home to people of many different ethnicities and cultures, including Han Chinese, Mongolian, Russian, Korean, Manchurian, Ewenke, Elunchun, and Dauer people groups.  In addition, about 20% of those who participate in Prairie Bridge International’s programs each year come from countries outside China, such as Japan, Korea, and countries in Southeast Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and North and South America.
 
Each night during camp programs, Prairie Bridge International uses ethnic food, costumes, music, and dance to highlight different cultures.  Usually the focus of attention is Chinese culture, Mongolian culture, Russian culture, and American culture.
Because of the emphasis in the Chinese educational system on learning English, Prairie Bridge International provides local children and adults plenty of opportunity to practice oral English.  Prairie Bridge International actively recruits native English speakers to serve as volunteers at the camp.  Local children and adults are then encouraged to interact in English with each other and with native English speaking volunteers during camp programs and activities.
Camel Lessons at Prairie Bridge International
Summer camp activities include horseback riding, camel riding, cross-country mountain biking, rafting on the Gen River (which flows through the camp),  hiking, orienteering, bonfire, singing, making handcrafts, watching English language cultural movies, playing football, baseball, and basketball, and playing games such as ping pong and carpet ball.
Winter camp activities include tubing, cross-country skiing, skating, hiking, camel and horse sleighing, bonfire, singing, making handcrafts, watching English language cultural movies, and playing indoor games such as ping pong and carpet ball.
