About STAC
The Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC) is a group of students working with the administration to improve the student experience with technology at the University. Recent years have seen technology become an integral part of that experience, from the migration of academic resources online to the spread of cell phones providing constant access to the Internet. The STAC meets weekly to discuss the management of current technologies (like wireless internet access and campus printing) and the implementation of new initiatives (like WUSTL apps and improvements to webSTAC). STAC exists to ensure that students are involved in how these technologies are supported at the University from the very beginning.
STAC is a student owned and student governed advisory committee that works collaboratively with the University and IT resources to help plan and manage technology initiatives.  It includes representatives from a variety of student groups and areas as well as administrative areas.  As technology initiatives unfold at the University, STAC is represented through the members serving on working groups, strategic planning groups, and in other areas where students should be represented in technology efforts.
History
The University has a long history of including students in technology decisions, and the STAC is just the most recent piece of that history. Back in 2001, Network Technology Services formed a student advocacy panel to provide advice and guidance to students when discussing technology needs.
