Railroad work update - The railroad crossing on Washington Avenue is temporarily open for through traffic.  The crossing remains rough as the town was waiting on Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) to install a new crossing surface.  Due to major damages to BNSF track from the recent flooding events, BNSF will not get to this crossing surface before winter so the Town’s contractor has scheduled another shutdown to install the second lift of asphalt and permanent striping for October 29th  & 30th , weather permitting.   Next Spring when BNSF completes the crossing surface there will be another closure of Washington Avenue for a day or two.
