Wahat al-Salam – Neve Shalom (pronounced “waaḥat’ as-salaam/nevei shalom”) is Arabic and Hebrew for Oasis of Peace: an intentional community jointly established by Jewish and Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel. The village is located midway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Information about the village and its outreach work follows.

Community
The reality of Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom as a binational community serves as the base for its educational work. This section has articles and reports on the village’s government, infrastructure, and future development plans, some pages about community members, and a chronicle of events. Projects & Outreach
Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom gives practical expression to its vision of an egalitarian society through pioneering educational work at The School for Peace, Children’s Educational System and the Pluralistic Spiritual Centre. A Youth Club provides extracurricular activities for the community’s children. When funding permits, the community conducts humanitarian aid projects including, in recent years, summer camps for children from the West Bank.
Visiting (map, hotel, programs, more)
WAS-NS is half-way between Tel Aviv-Jaffa & Jerusalem. You can stay in the 40-room hotel, join a variety of programs, enjoy a meal at the restaurant or cafe at the village entrance and swim in the shaded outdoor pool. Occasionally there are homes for short term rental.
