German Cars Overview
German cars have always been a part of everyone's dream. Just imagine if you were able to ride in a speeding Porsche, or a cruising Mercedes, or rest in the comforts of a rugged Audi. Whatever German car you choose, each one is definitely a winner. German cars gain their position on the world market due to quality. Germany is famous for the high-performance and high-quality sports cars made by Porsche, and the cars of BMW are famous for their quality, safety and technological innovation. Germany is famous for its upscale sedans. They feature suspension systems that provide both a soft ride and good handling characteristics at the whole car market. Many manufacturers limit their automobiles electronically to driving speeds of 250 km/h (155 mph) for safety reasons. For pretuned models like AMG from Mercedes Benz, Audi S from Quattro Studio, and BMW M from M Studio, for some extra charge it is possible to open up their topspeed, so that the fastest models easily reach more than 300km/h.
Germany is incredibly good at what they do, which is make a lot of fast cars for rich families, and a fair amount of cars for the median demographic. Mercedes have a much fewer Critical repairs, on expensive hand made things like the transmissions, instead they have issues with the easy to repair eletronics. Vehicle inspection company DEKRA states in its deficiency report 2009 that German cars are the most reliable. DEKRA used the data of 15 million vehicle inspections in 2008 that are compulsory on a two years term in Germany to compare various car makers. In seven vehicle categories from compact to off-road the cars were checked on the basis of their mileage. German cars won 13 of 21 categories, including the overall winner the Audi A6 close followed by the BMW 7series and the BMW 5series. The lowest average rate of defects was decisive for winning the overall category.
The American International Automobile Dealers Association's (AIADA) newsletter recently reported that German car makers are among the participants in the auto industry which have taken a keen interest in producing environment friendly cars. The steps being taken by German car makers are also a big help in the protection of the environment. While according to the German newspaper Deutsche Welle, German car makers have yet to produce a true hybrid. And several car makers from the region expressed their interest on producing mild hybrids in the near future. The partnership between the two forward thinking car insurance companies is hoped to bring revolutionary technologies which will help not only the companies but the entire auto industry in their battle against global warming. With Volkswagen leading the way for German car makers, it is only a matter of time before we see them having the upper hand in the eco-friendly exhaust market all over the world.
