Meet The Composer  
Justin Raines holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in music composition. As an award-winning composer, Mr. Raines has had music performed all over the world. The Tad Wind Symphony from Tokyo, Japan has premiered several of his works and has released these recordings internationally on CDs and via Internet downloads. His most recent work, Metropolis, is now available for purchase worldwide. Justin’s versatile writing style has made his music accessible to any ensemble from chamber music to choral music, and from stage productions to film scores.
Recently, Justin has worked with both Voltage Pictures (The Hurt Locker, Dallas Buyers Club) and Hollywood Media Bridge to score the films Ambushed and A Certain Justice (directed by Giorgio Serafini.) In 2011, he also composed the score for the film Stealing Las Vegas (produced by Roger Corman.)
Throughout his career, Justin has had the opportunity to work and collaborate with many talented and creative artists. Under the guidance of Tony Award-winning writer Mark Medoff (Children of a Lesser God), Justin has composed music for many high-profile projects including orchestration work on the new musical We Are Enron, which was co-created by Christine Sanders and Bradford Hodgson. He also collaborated with Medoff on several other projects including the film 100 MPG, the first major project completed by the Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University, and more recently the short film Hatching Max, which won Best in Fest at the Sycamore Film Festival in Chicago.
As a regularly commissioned composer, Justin has developed a repertoire of chamber works that have been premiered and performed at instrumental conferences nationwide. In 2003, Dr. Pancho Romero commissioned a trumpet ensemble piece based on the musical exercise of noted trumpet instructor John Haynie. Some High Notes, A Few Low Notes, And One Too Many Trumpets was premiered at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Denver, Colorado by 50 of Haynie’s former students.
