Brief Introduction to the Middle School Attached to Northwestern Polytechnical Universitynpums.cn  英文 xgdfz.com 中文          中文旧版The Middle school Attached to Northwestern Polytechnical University (abbreviated to NPU Middle School), one of the firstly―named key middle schools in Shaanxi Province was founded in 1971. It is located in the southern part of Xi’an with an area of 34,000 square meters and the construction of 38,000 square meters. Since 1995, under the guidance of all levels of education 
administrative departments with the leadership of Principal 
Wang Yongzhi, the school has started a new stage of rapid 
development with remarkable achievements one after another.
Starting from 2000, 97 percent of the high school graduates 
entered the most important and the best universities in China 
and we have gained 7 first places in Xi’an envelop all the 
top three places many times during past decade. The number 
and rate of the students with high marks are absolutely in 
the leading place for many years continuously. In addition, 
the number of students entered Peking and Tsinghua Universities, 
two top universities in China, was 51 in 2004, 49 in 2005, 
47 in 2006, 69 in 2007, and 70 in 2008, taken up one third 
of the total number of students entering those two universities 
in Shaanxi Province. The number kept rising to around 90 from 
2009 to 2012 and in 2013, 104 students entered Peking and 
Tsinghua Universities. 
In November 2013, our school obtained 8 places in the real-name-high-school-principal-recommendation 
of independent student enrollment of Peking University and 
6 places in leader-plan recommendation of Qinghua University. 
The total number of 14 recommendations ranked the top across 
the country. Meanwhile, a large number of students were admitted 
to Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology 
of China, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 
Nanjing University, Harbin Institute of Technology and Xi’an 
Jiao Tong University. Each year, more than 40 percent of the 
graduates were admitted to the top “2+7” universities in China. 
The achievement in the National Olympiad of math, physics, 
chemistry and so on is also remarkable and the number as well 
as class is always the first in Shaanxi. Since 2000, our students 
won more than 101 all kinds of prizes in the national competition, 
13 of which are the First Award in National Finals and 759 
province level First Award were achieved as well. Especially 
in 2013, our school got the only two physical and chemistry 
national gold award in Shaanxi Province. 
In Physical Education, the achievement is still vigorous. 
In the past 5 years, the school has taken part in the District 
Middle School Students Games 27 times, which won 24 times 
in the first group totally.
The moral education work of the school has achieved remarkable
