GHD’s roundabout teamconducted a study to document the degree to which the deficiencieswere affecting safety and capacity of the intersection. Pursuant tothe initial study, we developed geometry, pavement marking, andsigning changes to remedy the safety and capacitydeficiencies.Additional intersection capacity was required dueto the proposed redevelopment of a nearby property. Approval ofthe redevelopment plan for the property hinged on gainingadditional capacity at the rotary intersection. The design that wasimplemented reconfigured the rotary to adhere to modern roundaboutoperating characteristics addressing the safety and capacitylimitations. All
